There is a small portion of the Westmont race where it is shady and beautiful as seen in the pictures below...
...but truth be told, it was a hot day with the sun bearing down on the runners for most of the race.
It has been rumored that this course is actually a 5K, even though it's advertised as a three-miler. If our times are any indication, today's results would suggest that it is indeed a 5K. Only 2 people got their "PR" (personal record) today. But if it is only a 3-mile race, the sun definitely had something to do with our slower-than-usual times. Kudos for making it all the way through everyone! (Glad it wasn't me!)

| Nate led the charge to the finish for our team, finishing in 4th place overall and completing the course in 19:11. Way to go, Nate! |

| Darryl was only 1 place and 2 seconds behing Nate, feeling good enough to give us his handsome smile. |

| Christian was next to cross the line and finished in 19:27. Way to push through the heat! |

| Jacob finished in 9th place overall with a time of 20:10. He showed great effort in the end by passing up the person who is behind him in this photo. (Sorry, Westmont!) |

| David was 12th overall, and his time was 20:34. (You might have run faster if you would have remembered to pack a lunch!!!) |

| Xavier's finish of 21:05 put him in 14th place. |

| Ralphie was next to finish. His final time was 21:14. |
 |
| Gus got his PR for the season....well, actually, it's his best time so far because it's his ONLY time so far. But it was a great effort and he looked strong in his first race of the season. Glad to have you running again, Gus! (Time = 21:14) |

| Josh finished in 27 flat...the heat may have slowed him down, but could it have also been due to his socializing during the race??? LOL. (At least I got a decent picture of you in the end, Josh. Hopefully that makes up for the other two!) |

| Don't let Chris' "last place" for the team deceive you. Chris was the only runner to improve his time at this race. He took off 28 seconds from his fastest race so far this season. WOW! That impressive!!! (Especially in this heat!) Keep it up, Chris! |
Next race is at Lisle High School on Saturday. First race (for us) starts at 9:40.
