Westmont

Tuesday's meet was a frosh-soph meet, warming up for the big one on Saturday in Lisle.  Thanks to Mrs. Friederich for getting the pictures during this meet!!!!  I don't have stats or times to share, so just enjoy the pics.  :-)

Oops!  Sorry about the flipped picture.  Or did you just put your shirt on backward???  :-)

(Oops again!)

(Great quality pictures, Mrs. F.  Thanks, again!)

Goofing off at the meet...

Quad Cities Marathon

Congratulations to Coach, Emily and Ana for their completion of the Quad Cities Half Marathon on Sunday, September 25, in Moline, IL.
Coach finished 51st out of 694 total men (top 7%) and 8th in his division with a total time of 1:31:49.  Impressive!
Emily was 429th out of 944 women and 23rd out of 129 others in her division.  Her time was 1:54:05.  Way to go!
Ana finished 361st overall and 15th out of 87 in her division. As an added detail, she was 2nd among the female atheletes of her same age.  This was her first half marathon.  Her total time was 1:51:30.  Fantastico!
Oh, and we can't forget that "Baby" Ana, age 2, also ran!  She completed the 1/4 mile micromarathon on Saturday, the 24th.  This was her first race ever, but probably not her last!  :-)
(Sorry, no pictures for this event.)

David Brady Cross Country Invitational

Unlike last year (when a bolt of lightening cancelled the meet), today was a perfect day for both runners and spectators.  We had runners in the boys' Frosh-Soph, Girls' Varsity and Boys' Varsity, and medal winners in two of those races.  A hardy congrats to each and every team member.  Finishing this course is a challenge in and of itself; it's definitely one of the most difficult races each year.  Kick your feet up the rest of the weekend (after you finish your homework, of course).
You deserve it!

FROSH-SOPH:

GIRLS' VARSITY:

Posing in our new shorts!

It's hard to appreciate in this picture, but the runners are actually at the bottom of a long, long hill.  What a way to begin a race!

Between the first and second mile markers...

Ale fighting for 18th place

Sandra with a strong finish in 27th place.
(1 minute 37 seconds faster than her last race at Argo)

Not far behind...36th place
(3 minutes 17 seconds faster than the previous Argo race--amazing!)

Anne took 8 minutes, 5 seconds off her previous time--out of this world!!!

This was Melody's first Bull Frog event.  Way to go!

The medal says 18th place, as well as the slip of paper that she got at the finish line, but the "official" place on the web site was 19th.  Not sure why there is a discrepency.

The team got 8th place overall out of 19 teams total.
Pretty impressive considering that some of the teams are AAA!!!
Well run, Ladies!
