Concordia University - Wisconsin


     It was a wonderful day for a race, and the Broncos did a great job!  We had 15 runners in the Boys' 5K race and 4 in the Girls' 4K, with a medal winner from each team.  The boys took 5th place overall! This is pretty significant if you consider the fact that our top five runners consisted of one junior, two sophomores, and two freshman!  This team has a lot of potential that can be developed through the season and the years to come.  Everyone did a fantastic job, though, not just the top 5.  For many, it was their first time in an official competition.  Each runner can be proud of him or herself.  It was a fun start to the season.

The fun actually began the night before...

 

The meet takes place every year on the campus of Concordia in Mequon, WI.

                                 

The best part of the campus (and the running course) is the beautiful view!

Girls' 4K is up first:

Starting with prayer.

           

Alex finished in 14th place with a time of 18:07.

           

                    Nessa finished 38th, with a time of 20:23.

         

             Tamron's time was 21:09, finishing in 49th place.

         

                    Michaela finished her course in 28:08.

Which is worse...the crazy faces, or the fact that the Porta-Potties are in the background?!?!

Now the Boys...Final prayer and warm-ups

           

112 runners were in the boys' race today.

              

Eric finished in 7th place overall with a time of 18:32.

              

Jaylin finished 35th in 20:21.

                  

 Jacob (on the left) pulled away and finished close behind Jaylin in 37th place with a time of 20:28.  

Jose was not far behind, completing the race in 20:35 (40th place).

 

 Mario was the last of the top five for the team, finishing in 45th place overall in a time of 20:49.

                 

 James seems happy about his time (21:45).

  

 Emmett finished in 23:17...

                        

                                               ...and Jack close behind in 23:19.

 

Steven's time was 24:34.                                   

                                                                                                                    

 

                                            Anders' was 25:22.


                 

                                                      Kenny completed it in 27:18.


           

Benji finished in 29:03.

    
 

                           Joey's final time was 29:40.

  
                   

                                                       Jose wrapped it up in  35:55.

 

   And Rohan was obviously having a good time during his race of 36:23!
