Metro Suburban Cross Country
Conference Meet
Elmwood Park High School
(Yes, this was our 4th time here this season!)

It was hinting of rain most of the morning, but never really came down in a significant way.  So it was pleasantly cool for the runners, but not too cold for the spectators.  We had some great performances today and several medals were earned, and I believe two All-Conference titles as well.  Congrats to all!

(We weren't able to beat our nemesis, Timothy Christian, but the difference between us and them was actually smaller than reported due to a vanishing act of one of our runners who never got recorded as finishing the race!  Hopefully there will be an updated corrected version of the results available soon.)

Varsity Boys ran the first race for Walther today.

And off they go!

Jack was thirsty right from the start and took the lead for our Broncos.  He managed to edge ahead of the frontrunner for Timothy at the very end and finished in 4th place overall, earning himself an All-Conference title!  Way to go, Jack!!!  His final time was 16:48.

Julio had a strong run and consistently pushed toward the front.  By the end of the race he had made his way to 9th place overall with a time of 17:24.  Fantastic!

As you can see, Luis ran neck and neck with the same TCS runner most of the time.  I'm not even sure who won out in the end because according to the results that I was able to access online, Luis doesn't exist!  So sorry, Luis, at the moment I don't have a time or place for you (if anyone knows it, please let me know!).

Jaylin was next to cross the line.  He finished in (around) 14th place with a time of 17:49.  Great run, Jaylin!

Nate got a PR today, finishing in 17:59, 19 seconds faster than last week's race here.  Impressive!

Darryl was our 6th runner today, finishing in 18:37.   Great job!

Gus brought up the rear, finishing in 19:01.  Nice work, Gus!
 The girls were up next...

Claudia did a wonderful job, finishing in 6th place and with a time of 25:26.  She earned herself a medal today.  Well done!
Addy pushed through and completed the course in spite of the pain.  Her final time was 32:18.  Way to not give up, Addy!
Next was the Soph/Frosh boys...

Welcome back, Jacob!!!

Quang finished 10th overall, earning himself a medal, and finished with a time of 20:20.  Well run!!

These two stayed together for a good part of the race.

In the end, Jacob pulled ahead and was able to finish in 13th place, with a time of 20:23.  In spite of being off nearly the entire season, he still improved on his mile pace.  Pretty impressive.  Am looking forward to seeing what this young man does next year!

Raffaele snuck up from behind, catching up to Isaiah and then finishing in 15th place with a time of 20:36  This was a PR for him.  Congrats!!!

Isaiah was right behind him, finishing in 16th place with a time of 20:40.  Great job!

Luke crossed the finish line in 21:44,   This was a new PR for him!  Wow!!

Trevon finished his race in 25:08.  Good job!!!
The final race of the day was the Open race:

Aaron's final time was 19:40.  Way to go!
