30th Annual Lisle "MANE EVENT" Invitational

Not unlike our last time here during Sectionals of 2015, it was a VERY wet day.  It was on and off with the showers most of the morning, but mainly "on" versus "off," as will be reflected in the pictures below.  An injury kept Addy out of the first race, and the heavy, annoying rain cancelled the last race, so Claudia didn't run either.  So today was the guys' day!  With conditions being what they were, it was not expected that we get any PR's, and though I haven't talked with everyone, I heard that at least two of our guys went down at some point in the race, but they did get back up and keep going.   It was not an easy race, that's for sure.  But everyone gave it their all and kept pushing through.  Way to go, Broncos!

Alumnus James Childs came to cheer on the running Broncos today!

First up was the Frosh/Soph Boys.  There were 110 runners in total in this race.  It was a 4K.

Darryl was the 1st to cross the finish line for Walther, finishing in the top 1/2 of the group.  His final time was 15:59.
Isaiah was 2nd for Walther, finishing in 17:31.

Quang was just 1 place and 2 seconds behind Isaiah.

Xavier's time was 18:16.

Luke crossed the line in 18:54.

Rafael was next to finish for the team, completing the course in 19:16

Trevon's final time was 21:11.

Way to go, guys!  It was not an easy course today, that's for sure!!!

 Next up, Varsity Boys:

You gotta love those socks!

YES!!!!!

Luis finished in 23rd place, earning himself a medal.  His time was 17:36, a minute faster than Tuesday's race, in spite of the rain!

Jack finished in 34th place, earning himself a ribbon.  His time was 18:01, which was one minute and 34 seconds faster than his first 5K of the year.  Nice work!!!

In spite of being spiked during the race, Julio worked his way to the 3rd spot for our team, completing the course in 19:16.  Way to not give up, Julio!

Jaylin also went down during the race, but got right back up to finish 4th for the team in a time of 19:32.  Way to keep on going, Jaylin!

Gus captured the 5th spot for the team, finishing in 19:58.
Nate crossed the line in 20:36.

Aaron's final time was 21:08.

In my book, if you were a finisher, you were a winner today!  Great job, everyone.  You persevered under difficult circumstances.

Just including this picture because I can!

This is the kind of conditions are runners were faced with today!

Proud Coach with our top runners.

CONGRATS, LUIS!
Our next two meets will be at Elmwood Park again.
See you there!
