Cantigny Woods and Gardens
Hosted by St. Francis High School
Wheaton, IL

Concerned about the potential bad weather, the 4-race meet was whittled down to 2 races (sort of!).  The boys and girls JV teams were run together at 4:30.  Then the boys varsity at 5:00, shortly followed by the girls varsity.  In retrospect, none of the changes were needed as the weather remained dry and quite pleasant for the duration of the race.  (But even so, I'm not complaining as it allowed me to get home at a decent time!)

(I wouldn't put a lot of stock in the times for this race.  When so many people have "worse" times instead of better, I'm guessing there are other factors affecting it.  So don't stress out about them!)
 First up: JV Boys
Today's JV runners: Luke, Xavier, Rafael, Quang, Trevon, & Isaiah.

Unfortunately, Quang got injured and had to pull out of the race sometime after this point.

Oops!  There goes Rafael!

Xavier ended up being the first to cross the finish line for our team.  Final time was 24:40 (which was over 1 minute faster than Tuesday's race).
Great job!

Final time: 24:57

Crossed the finish line in 26:18.

First run of the season.  Finished in 26:17.

Another first race of the season.  Course completed in 27:54.

Next up: Varsity Boys

I'm not exactly sure what this is supposed to be...some kind of new XC/Dance move?

"The Pack" minus one (Remember the  front runner with the nifty dance move?...That's the "one")

Luis finished first for the team, and THIRD overall!!!  Final time was 18:14.

Jack was 8th overall and crossed the finish line in 18:50.

Julio finished in 10th place with a time of 19:13.

Jaylin was 11th overall and crossed the line at 19:27.

Gus was 17th overall and finished his race in 20:28.

Nate was 20th and finished in 20:47.

Aaron our 7th runner for the team, and completed the race in 21:48.

Darryl was close behind, crossing the finish line in 22:01.

Just minutes after the boys started, the girls followed close behind...

Claudia was our only female runner today.  She finished the race in 26:47.

AWARDS TIME!
Look at all those medals!

(Gus earned a medal too, but wasn't around for the picture.)

Well done, everyone!
Next race in Aurora on Saturday, the 24th.
