WHITNEY YOUNG INVITE
WASHINGTON PARK, CHICAGO, IL
The forecast and skyline looked gloomy early on, but by mid-morning, the sun was coming through and blue sky could be seen. The temperatures stayed cool, but that's to be expected in the fall. Aside from the scattered showers that began the day, it was nearly a perfect day for running.
Washington Park is a beautiful setting; the only things missing were the fall colors that we are anticipating any week now. The course was flat, but still seemed to be a challenge to our runners. Several of them required ice packs after completing their races. Thanks to the Enokians for coming prepared and providing ice to our hurting athletes. Thanks also to Dr. Childs for contributing some of the photos. And thanks to both the Enokians and Mrs. Ulmer for a delicious team dinner on Friday evening.

Enjoy!
Washington Park provided a very scenic view for most of the race. |
But early on, the name of the game was 'Huddle as Much as Possible to Stay Warm'!!! |
Coach Goffron finally got everyone up to take a warm-up lap around the course. |
...and provided instructions as to how to put the chips on their running shoes for race time. |
