David Brady Invitational
Hosted by Argo High School
at Bull Frog Lake

The good news:  The race is only 2.9 miles long.
The bad news:    It feels like 5 miles long!!!
This meet starts and ends with a killer hill (and I'm told an additional hill in between).  Because of its reputation as being a difficult course, EVERYONE who doesn't get in the top 25 still gets a ribbon (which states, "Bull Frog Survivor").
So hats off to each participant for finishing.
That's a feat in and of itself.
From the spectator's point of view, it's a GREAT race.  The weather was pleasant, especially in the shade, and the view is beautiful.  Plus, as spectators we get to see the runners at several points along the course, so while it may be some of the competitors' least desirable, for the rest of us, it's a favorite!

Enjoy the pics!

The interesting part about this pictures is that nobody has actually run yet!!!  Why so tired?

("Can I be in this picture too?")

A picture perfect day!!!
First Race of the Day:  Boys Frosh Soph

Mario finished the course in 21:15.  Great job!

Jerard's first race.  Final time: 23:11.  Super!!!

You know what he's thinking???  "My, what a beautiful view!!!"  (OK, so maybe it's just the photographer actually thinking that.)
Second Race of the Morning: Varsity Girls

This picture doesn't really do it justice, but the girls are struggling up a very long hill at this point.

Who's faster?  Alex, or The Shadow???  Final time: 19:50 (9 second improvement from last year)

Race completed in 20:25, a 34 second improvement from last year!

Finished in 23:27, 32 seconds faster.

Across the finish in 23:32--first time ever at Bull Frog.

Also her first time here, finishing in 25:26.

Alex & Sonja displaying their medals (for 11th and 23rd place) and socks.
Overall, the team earned 11th out of 18 teams.
Not bad, considering the steep competition and the steep hills!!!!!
Well run, EVERYONE!!!

3rd Race:  Boys Varsity

As usual, Frankie and Sean start off together.

Waiting for the next runner to cheer on.

Frankie finished in 17:27; that's 32 seconds better than last year.

Sean improved his time by a whole minute!  Today's finish:  17:52.

This was Eric's first time.  He finished in 19:10.

James finished in 20:29.  This was his first time at Bull Frog.  Jacob finished in 20:34, one minute, 49 seconds faster than year!!!  Give Jacob the prize for most improved!!!!

Matthew put in a great effort after recovering from an injury.  He finished in 21:32.

Steven finished his race in 22:57.

Final Race of the Morning: Open (Boys)

Juan finished in 23:04.

Kenny completed the task in 24:43.

Once again, great job, everyone.  And thanks to all the parents who attended and cheered them all on.  Feel free to forward any pictures you have that you would like added to the site.

Next up: Whitney Young Invite at Washington Park
at 9:00 a.m. on September 22.

See you then!!!!
