Activities for our 3rd meet of the season, at ICCP, actually started the night before with our 1st official team dinner. |
Thanks to Chris' parents for providing a delicious dinner! |
It also just happened to be David's 18th birthday, so we had to celebrate that too! |
With our single girl out waiting to see the doctor, our first race was the boys' varsity at 9:30 a.m.
6 of our runners were on the course today.

Someone always has to be the wise guy! |
Final words from the coach |
Go Broncos! |
Off they go! |
Darryl eventually worked his way toward the front of our boys, finishing 28th overall with a time of 18:30. Last year at this time he was still running in the 20's for a 3-mile race, so he's starting off significantly better this year. Way to go, Darryl! |
Nate worked his way up to cross the line 2nd for our team (34th overall), finishing in 18:45. He ran this race in 20:52 last year, which means he took off over two minutes this time around. Wow!!! |
Christian was less than a second behind Nate, finishing in 18:46. He took off 15 sec/mile from last week. Great job! |
David finished right behind Christian with a time of 18:58. He improved his mile pace from last week by 11 seconds/mile. Keep it up! |
Jacob was 39th overall, finishing in 19:13; this was 5 second/mile improvement from last week. Superb! |
Quang was 6th for the team to cross the line. His time was 19:36, which is over 2 mimnutes faster than when he ran this course last year. What an improvement! |
Next up came the JV boys:
Guided by their fearless leader. |
Again, another wise guy! |
Xavier ran like a machine today...finishing the course in 21:17, over 3 minutes faster than last year's time at this course! Powerful! |
Isaiah showed off his improvement by taking more than 4 minutes off his time last year at the beginning of the season. He finished in 21:37. Impressive! |
Rafael took off nearly 1-1/2 minutes from last year's time at this course His time was 21:40 today. Way to go! |
This was Jonathan's first race of the season. He finished strong with a time of 22:41. Great job! |
Aaron completed the run in 22:51. He took 2 seconds/mile off his mile pace. Woohoo! |
This was Lars' first race of the season. He completed it in 22:55. Great start to your running career, Lars! |
Andrew was our next finisher, crossing the finish line in 24:41. This is significant because he took off 1 minute, 31 seconds, not from his total time, but off his mile time!! Andrew, you've been holding back! Way to go! |
Chris was another first-timer today; he finished the run in 27:52. Way to finish strong, Chris! |
Coach Goffron managed to squeeze in some family time between coaching obligations! |
Our next meet will be at St. Francis in Cantigney Park on Friday (NOT Saturday) at 4:00. Hope to see you all there!
