Pre-Conference
Elmwood Park High School
The girls had it tougher than the boys today as there was a notable difference in how the weather felt for both races. It was very hot and humid for the girls, and the sunshine didn't help at all. By the time of the boys race, the sun had slipped behind the clouds and wasn't quite so intense.
Overall, though, everyone did well. It was fun to see the boys run as a pack and have four of our runners in the top eleven! Too bad there were no awards today, but if we keep this up, we'll have several All-Conference runners by October!
Girls were up first!
Claudia had a good reason to smile today. Her time was 26:07, which one minute 38 seconds faster than last year's pre-conference race. Her improvement with each race is very consistent. |
Addy also seems to be enjoying the run. Her final time was 29:13. |
The girls seem to be giving us the message that
cross country is fun!
Next came the boys...
Two newcomers to the team...welcome! |
Not sure what they were doing exactly, but they apparently were having fun. |
Our frontrunners did a great job of forming a tight pack in the beginning. |
Julio was 10th overall, finishing in 18:07. This is a PR for both this year and last year! Jaylin was next to cross the finish line with a time of 18:25. |
Nate was 23rd (out of 64 runners), putting him in the top 36%, which is pretty impressive for the first year of running. His time was 19:34. |
Gus pushed hard to the end, completing the course in 20:16. |
Darryl finished with a time of 20:34. |
Aaron's time was 21:09. |
Quang crossed the line in 21:53, which is a 5 second improvement from last Saturday. |
Luke's time was 24:03. |
Xavier finished in 26 minutes flat. |

We've got some work to do, but we're definitely going in the right direction! Well done, everyone!
Next meet at St. Francis on Friday in Wheaton. See you there!
